In lieu of actual in-person collaborations with other musicians during this pandemic i have opted to turn my computer into a collaborator, something i’ve never done before. So in this rethinking of my instrument as another musician within itself, i created a patch that would allow the computer to decide on tempo, pitch, and occasionally tones in and of themselves. Here i play the role solely as the conductor/composer, choosing the instrumentations and when they are heard but exactly how they are played is completely determined by the computer itself. In many ways it’s a battle but equally a symbiotic relationship.

As you listen, please keep in mind that there are absolutely no acoustic instruments on this recording. i hope you are surprised as i am with the outcome.
